Marshall JMP 2204 front panel

Postby sv102 on Sun Apr 02, 2017 1:32 pm

Hello all! I'm new to the forum so wanted to introduce myself. I recently purchased my first JMP. It's 1980 2204 re-biased for EL34s and overall in a very good condition. However, there's one cosmetic flaw that I'd like to fix. The top of the front metal panel is slightly "crunched". What would be the best idea to straighten it out? Does the front panel come off? Thanks.

It should just be glued on since that's the only way to stick plastic to metal. Try http://www.triodeelectronics.com/ and see if they have a front panel for you.

The chassis is steel and the faceplate is aluminum. There is no plastic. If you’re thinking a Plexiglass control panel, those are actually Perspex and stopped mid 1969. The JMP 2203/2204 uses an aluminum control panel.

You are correct. My clone came with plastic panels. Sorry for the error.
