Any Little Feat fans?

Postby Clanger on Wed Dec 16, 2009 11:34 am

Little Feat never really had much impact in the UK. I've always been aware of them, but only recently checked them out fully. I'm really digging the whole shebang at the moment.

Here's a good live version of All that you Dream, high-70's style!

Excellent DVD out now called "Skin it Back". Little Feat live in 1977 on Rockpalast. I have it, and it's a must for fans of the Feat.

This probably my favorite little feat song.

One of my all time favorites!!! I've been a fan from back in the '70's due to my older Brother's record collection. I was lucky enough to see them with Lowell on their last tour. I've seen them several times in various incarnations since then and none have come close to that band. They played here this past Summer at an outdoor gig and while they were good it wasn't nearly the same...

The four CD Box Set is a great chronicle of the early years and has some of the later stuff too. I just got my younger Brother the "Skin It Back" DVD (+ one for me...) and the "Rock and Roll Doctor" book about Lowell George.

They are another deserving band that is not in the Rock Hall of Fame...

Their original drummer Richie Hayward is very sick; http://www.spinner.com/2009/10/23/little-feat-drummer-richie-hayward-battling-liver-cancer/

Oh yeah, my 5yr old son has been digging an old cassette of Feat he found lately and forgot how great they were!

Glad they had a resurgence back in the 80's with the dude from Pure Praire League, saw that tour and it was good also.

Shared the bill w/ Craig Fuller a long time ago... must have been very close to the time he hooked up w/ JD Call (another local to the area) received a very nice compliment from him after the gig.
My cousin's band shared the bill (Wheeling, W Va) w/ Little Feat when Lowell George was alive. Shared some smoke and drink in their tour bus... I believe it was a Ford Econoline.

Been a fan for many a year.
Weeds, whites and wine..... used that as an anthem for a while.
Don't bogart that joint, my friend..... became a catchphrase a lot of places.
And whenever anybody stood up and said "I'm just going to the bathroom" we'd all rip into
"Fatman in the bathtub". Lordy, lordy, lordy. Happy days. Lowell, we miss yah pal.

been a pretty big fan since the early 70's-listened to them more back then, but i still break out their discs occasionally.liked em best when lowell was in the band 8) .billy payne is a great keys man, played on a lot of other people's stuff too.heck, the whole band was great in that bluesy/funk/country vein.my fave was "sailin' shoes",which only came out in vinyl as a british import (for some reason).it's got the original "willin""better than linda ronstadt's hit version, imo.lg played on a couple of frank zappa albums too, before the feat,i believe.

I'm a big fan of Little Feat too.. amazing songwriting and playing. I've heard some story that Stones wanted to sound like them at some point

In a recent magazine article Paul Barrere said that Lowell told him he used a Craftsman Spark plug Socket since they had a lifetime warranty and they'd replace them for free...

Yeah indeed, The Feat have ruled that funky corner of the rock and roll world for ages- loved the band with Lowell George but am glad they've soldiered on. 'Representing the Tango' brings back fond memories too....

 Jake.

Alright, how many other guys (or gals) have visited their Sears tool dept. to try on socket wrenches? Drew some strange looks, especially after telling the clerks why.

One of my favorite bands...These guys smoke. I'm glad I got to see them many years ago with Lowell George. I saw them about 4 years ago and the band was still smok'in hot. A real drag about the drummer though.
