Looks like the PT has been replaced (odd bolts and one is missing.

The trannies have different patina too.

Appears to be... .

That serial number does not appear in the Hiwatt Registry, but numbers around it trace to 1975:

Anyone familiar with the seller (Music Box - Vintage & Rare)?

I would say the transformers are original, the codes are certainly right and fit with each other and the era. The different patina is odd unless one end was exposed to damp for a while maybe?
Wouldn't describe it as mint though with the Bulgin replaced (although it has been done without damaging the chassis) and a missing transformer screw.
Pretty sure this appeared on Ebay here in the UK a while ago being sold by Indenial who was in the Liverpool area.

10 foot pole rule applies. I feel for the seller if they are ethical and honestly in the dark. its not worth one third the asking price.

I have no connection with the sale, but what is wrong with it?

So it is only worth £850?

in my opinion, that is generous.

The serial number is counterfeit. This in itself eliminates any collector value.
the amp is a "lashup". a combination of components from multiple amps.

Who would give much for this?

How reliable will this hodge podge of 40+ year old components be?

I hate seeing stuff like this.

Not I. With that DNA on it, everything has to be questioned.

Very interesting.

What I do not understand is how making these fakes can be econonomically practical.

The components must cost around £1000 to put together from parts, even a donor amp (SC or a PA/slave) is several hundred pounds.

I only got £1100 for my very clean and original (albeit with bias mod recapped re tubed) '71 DR103 last year.

They are not that rare so why bother?

they have sold many of them at premium prices to unknowing customers.

I am sure that they acquire parts donors for pennies and they probably have a pile of donors laying around.

I don't have any connection to the seller either and agree with the comment on the asking price, but I don't agree with Callaway's comments as to it being a total forgery.
I would like him to expand on that claim and put forward evidence please.
I have already made comments about the transformers and, to me, everything looks right inside.
Absolutely the serial plate is a replacement and so re-stamped, but the various features and transformers fit in with the serial.
So is it possibly a converted PA head?

I agree that the amp for sale just doesn't seem legit and it is priced beyond reason----- it might be a good sounding old amp but not "Mint" or a collectors item.

I looked up my Hylight 2 Holer DR504 on the Hiwatt Registry and it said that it is "Very Dusty, Worn".

Does it look that way to anyone ?

The Registry is a great source of information, but only repeats what owners say on the form they fill out.
