Sound City website is up; a first baby step...

Hello Sound Citizens...

Well, here goes... ;) ...the first iteration of what I know will be many iterations is up, running, and ready for viewing here.

A number of the pages are under construction, but what is there should give you some idea of what I'm after. I'm not an HTML whiz, so I did what I could given the tools I have: no bells, no whistles, nothing flashes, and no goofy GIFs. I still have dozens of SC-related photos to massage and post.

My plan (though admittedly altruistic) is for this to be a totally dynamic site, to be shared by all of us, so I'll add/change/delete whatever I can, whenever I can. Also, I'm dealing with an enforced limitation of 10 MB of free space, and because "free" is such a wonderful word, I've gone with my current ISP Earthlink to start up this site.

One last thing, rather than discussing suggestions here, please send me email via the site. Okay? I've also tested the site with Netscape v4.7 and v6.2, and with IE v5, which are all I have.

That's it. Enough of a preface... be gentle and best regards...
1953VintageP.S. Leftee, because it's easier to ask forgiveness than it is permission, I "borrowed" (and gave credit to PP for) the large Sound City JPEG from the Plexi Palace site. So, either thank you in advance or I'm sorry, whichever is appropriate.

Kudos Michael!

A site like this is long overdue and I can see that great effort has gone into it.

I am anxious to see it mature and grow.

FYI - I have and cherish a 1971 SC 50 Plus.

Cheers

I'd like to thank Satamax for sending me links to assorted SC schematics, a Bass 150 schematic JPEG, AND... for even providing the HTML code for the links!

Merci beaucoup, Max!

Best regards.

When I was in Ireland in September I met about six guys named Michael O'Brien. It's a very common name.

Regarding aiding "legitimacy," I can only aid it if I do a good job. Time will tell.

Thanks.

Need any more of the catalog pages? I have pics of my L200 that I could send too.

Also have an old metal logo 4x12" and 2 of the PA cabinets (4x12") all with the cool early grill cloth.

And my Hiwatt is made from a L100 chassis (never used for that purpose but the riveted in back plates for ohm and voltage are there and incorrect).
